Personnel recruitment in the maritime sector has to comply with international and national requirements regarding the competence levels expected for rank. Shortage of qualified seafarers, especially officers, have been identified as a global issue that is likely to worsen in the future. For Crew Managers this may impose a challenge on hiring the right people for the job.
Marlink and Seagull Maritime have entered into a partnership to introduce a step-change in onboard training this year, creating an online, satcom enabled environment for the distribution and updating of e-learning material. The partnership combines Marlink and Seagull’s respective domain expertise to streamline and automate e-learning content distribution and management. Additional functionality will be offered later this year to enable fully digitalised services with the Seagull software running on Marlink’s XChange centralised IT and communications management platform, providing full on-board hosting, and monitoring of Seagulls market leading software to improve crews’ knowledge and qualification.
Seagull Maritime continues to update the Seagull Training App. The newly enhanced Seagull Training App is now complete with the possibility to run e-learning modules and learning films directly from the main menu. The App can be used across a range of mobile device including tablets, in both Android and iOS formats, with dynamic screen layouts for all sizes.
We constantly see an increased demand for unified systems to reduce workload and the potential for errors. This is why we have developed a web API interface between the Seagull Training Administrator (STA) and several maritime personnel and crewing systems.
The ‘Seagull Bulletin’ is a new, complimentary feature for users of the Seagull Training Administrator (STA) and registered users on the Seagull website.
Seagull Maritime have now added a new Training Analytics tool enabling Training Managers to pre-define customized training activity reports and receive these regularly through e-mail, giving you accurate information needed to take action.
Seagull Maritime has significantly upgraded the Seagull Training App, the mobile software solution that has revolutionised the way seafarers track their training records and receive critical safety alerts. Available in both Android and iOS formats, the newly enhanced app can be used across a range of mobile devices, with dynamic screen layouts for all sizes, including tablets. The home screen has also been refined to include a bottom bar menu featuring click-through to notifications, training statuses and scheduled activities.
Seagull Maritime has launched the maritime industry’s first Training Analytics tool using automated prompts to help managers to benchmark training activity levels and prioritize follow up. Developed in collaboration with several Seagull Maritime customers, the Seagull Training Analytics tool provides a simplified process for monitoring crew training activities and targeting areas for improvement.
The Seagull mobile app for crew training status is set to revolutionise the way seafarers track their training records and receive critical safety alerts, by making both instantly accessible via the iPhones and Android devices.
Seagull Maritime has launched an advanced software tool able to benchmark seafarer knowledge levels, allowing shipowners and operators to compare their crew and potential recruits with industry peers. The new tool will provide shipping companies with online access to data that can help them take objective decisions on recruitment sources and identify areas where further training is required.
