Did you know that 55% of ships calling into European ports will be affected by this regulation? And that these ships represent around 90% of related emissions?
The new EU MRV shipping regulation aims to quantify and reduce CO2 emissions from shipping activities in Europe and will impact more than 15 000 ships globally. So what does this mean for you? From 1 January 2018 all ships entering to, from or in between European ports that are on a commercial voyage and equal to or above 5000 GT will have to monitor, report and verify their CO2 emissions generated by their activity.
