Electric shock

Electric shock is amongst the top 10 causes of accidents on board ships.

Electric shocks are always dangerous, so it’s essential that crewmembers know how to respond when an electric shock occurs on board, as even a small amount of current can be fatal. Describing the causes of electric shocks and the precautions to prevent them from occurring, this module provides the learner with practical knowledge of procedures for undertaking safe maintenance and repair activity. It also prepares them for the correct response in the case of an electrical emergency.
