Scandinavian User Meeting 2010 – another great success!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The 2010 Scandinavian User Meeting was held in Bergen at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Bryggen on the 2nd of September. The full day event with 30 participants representing 18 companies was a great success.

Our own CEO Roger Ringstad held the welcoming speech including an update from our Support department. Later on the day he also made a brilliant presentation of our STA online solution and the included statistical reporting feature.

The main topic for the event was MLC 2006 where Ms. Helle P. Fløtaker from DNV held an excellent speech, giving us all a good overview and better understanding of the new convention. She also answered questions from the audience and had some good conversations during the breaks.

Area Sales Manager, Ståle Nordvik gave a status update of the CBT development giving an overview of the modules related to MLC 2006. At the end of the day, he also had a presentation of CES 5.0 Online and its main usage.

Our new Director of Training Content/Competence Manager – Capt. Bjarke Jakobsen held a very interesting speech about competence management and towards the end of the day he also gave us a good insight of the concept of Onboard Courses.

Two highlights of the day, was the customer presentations. First was Capt. Pär Brandholm from Laurin Maritime AB, a Swedish Chemical/Product tanker operator. Laurin is in the process of implementing the competence system, e-TOTS, and gave a good insight into how they are doing that and confirming that e-TOTS is an easy to use competence system.

Our second customer presentation was held by Mr. Pål Morten Hjulstad from Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skibsrederi AS. He gave a thorough presentation on how KGJS use Seagull products both onboard and ashore for office personnel.

The general response from the participants was very positive and we got a lot of valuable feedback. The meeting was closed at 16.00 and finally an evening dinner was held at 18.00.
