Safety Officer on board training approved by MCA

The background for this training requirement is found in Code for Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen, consolidated edition 2002 (MCA).

The best way to develop a safety culture and to achieve a high standard of safety is to have a Safety Officer onboard the ship. Seagull’s Safety Officer training course consists of five Computer Based Training (CBT) modules combined with extracts from the MCA Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen and practical exercises.

Seagull’s Safety Officer Onboard Course Package provides the required knowledge, plus theoretical and practical skills to those who may be appointed as Safety Officer. The onboard course package includes:

CBT # 1 - Personal Safety
CBT # 2 - Ship General Safety
CBT # 5 - ISM Code
CBT # 88 - Human Relations
CBT # 123 - Risk Assessment and Management
Workbook of questions and practical exercises.
