SEAGULL PRESENTED at THE LLOYD’S LIST EVENT, "11th EUROPEAN MANNING & TRAINING PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP ON COMPETENCE & TRAINING REGIMES"

INTERTANKO and SEAGULL both made informative presentations that day with Captain Howard Snaith, marine Director INTERTANKO presenting "Tanker Officer Training Standards" (TOTS), and by our own Captain Jim Dibble Managing Director of Seagull Maritime Information Technology on the "Seafarer Competence for Operational Excellence"  (SCOPE) as developed and used by Teekay Shipping.

TOTS - Tanker Officer Training Standards – is intended to provide the tanker industry with a standard that ensures tanker officer competence through onboard and shore training, evaluating time in rank and time with company and also easing the problems and difficulties that tanker owners are encountering with the different officer matrix requirements of certain charterers.  Importantly, TOTS also aims to address the current increasing trends in tanker accidents.
