LNG Training Record Book

In the absence of industry accepted operational training standards specifically for officers serving on LNG vessels and the needs from the industry SIGTTO commenced a project in early 2005 to develop a structured guidance for recommended competence. This work was completed and approved by the SIGTTO board in November 2005.

These standards are still capable of improvement and SIGTTO encourages individual operators to consider any additional or more appropriate standards that may be suitable, to their specific operations, ships or trades. These standards have been written using the “competence based methodology” which is used in STCW and widely throughout industry.

Seagull has acquired the right to use the content of these new SIGTTO Training Standards as the basis for a training record book implemented in the Seagull Competence software. Any future upgrades will be available in the regular upgrades of the competence module within the Seagull Training Administrator.

For each of the defined competencies there are guidelines for both the candidate and assessor on how to satisfy each of the items. When required, this includes reference to relevant SIGTTO and other industry publications and guidelines.
